The High Hopes Band release their self-titled EP on July 23rd 2013 through Radiodirectx.com. The High Hopes Band have spent the last two years touring the Northeast as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands. High Hopes Band EP release holds true to their claimed influence of 70’s reggae.

The EP drives forward with the excellent songwriting and catchy rootical hooks. The EP features a diverse spectrum of Reggae sounds, from the pining of Sebastian Franks‘ “Sucka” and “Brown Rice” to the laid back R&B influenced feel of, “So Good”.

NY Social Status has said “Based on sheer music production alone, the members of High Hopes Band are definitely operating on the same frequency, and it’s such a pleasant one. Check them out. Or don’t. You can explain that mistake to your eardrums later.”

High Hopes is releasing the EP independently on their own label, Straight Forward Records. The EP is available from iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and many other online stores. Regarding the EP project, Jason Dick, singer & guitarist states, “It’s been about the relationships with people and really understanding that music is a whole other realm,” he explains. “Being in music is like being in another realm itself. For each individual person it’s just a bonding experience, especially when you get a group of people together that have the same frequency.”

After nearly 350 hours of studio time at Toronto’s Playhouse Studios with producer Snappy Homefry and collaborations with over 20 musicians from Toronto’s reggae community, plus the funding support of the Ontario Arts Council Popular Music Program and FACTOR, Toronto roots rock reggae orchestra House of David Gang officially release Reggae Warrior on NuFunk.ca Records.

Throughout their career House of David Gang has been known for their uplifting roots rock reggae sound reminiscent of Kingston, Jamaica’s music scene in the late 70’s & 80’s highly influenced by the works of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs mixed with a modern roots Canadian feel. The band takes its name from The House of David, an after-hours spot on Queen Street West that was a hotspot for artists from the city’s burgeoning Rastafarian and reggae community from the late 80s until the mid 90s.

House of David captivated audiences this summer at Rastafest to over 4,000 fans alongside The Mighty Diamonds and Echo Minott; has garnered national attention on CBC Radio; and performed live to 2 million people on CityTV’s Breakfast Television performing their new songs, including the new single “Best I Can Be”. The band recently made its first West Coast tour to British Columbia, with gigs in Vancouver, Whistler, Courtenay and Nanaimo, after a 5-date tour of Quebec and the Maritimes earlier this summer.
