TL Hip-Hop, Cultural Community Unites to Promote Powerful Video:Kelly Kalosa- Smiling @kellykalosa #KidsLivesMatter #blacklivesmatter

Smiling PSA Stars 16 Yr.-Old Singer Kelly Kalosa, Painter Patcasso

Shot at Old “King of Crunk” Studio After Recent Deaths in Orlando, Baton Rouge, St Louis, Dallas and Nice, ‎France

Lil Jon, Vince Phillips, Grand Hustle, Shanti Das, Lil’ Scrappy, Freco, RHOA’s Tammy McCall Browning, Mama Dee Help Promote PSA Via Social Media

Atlanta, Georgia – Lil Jon, Grand Hustle, Shanti Das, Mama Dee, Lil’ Scrappy and several figures in the ATL hip-hop and artistic community are supporting a new PSA featuring 16 year-old singer Kelly Kalosa and performance painter, Patcasso. The effort is designed to speak out against injustice and violence and to promote healing with priority given to our children and the world they are witness to.

Recorded after being inspired by all the negative occurrences in recent times, the “Smiling” video was directed by William “Putt” Holmes and shot at the old Lil Jon “King of Crunk” studio after the recent deaths in Orlando, Baton Rouge, St Louis, Dallas and Nice ‎France. It was produced by J-Kits.

‎Artists such as Lil Jon, Mama D, Young Jeezy, Lil’ Scrappy are helping to promote it via Twitter, Facebook and other their personal social media platforms.

Kalosa’s father, prominent ATL music attorney Vince Phillips, said:

I’m proud of her. She wrote a song about humanity – in Atlanta, and across the nation we have seen our share of injustice and senseless killing. Instead of smiling, kids see on the news and sometimes right down their street, innocent people being shot and harmed. The bottom line is we need to come together as a human race – to remember that everything should be about our kids. It should always be about the kids. What are we teaching them?

Dallas based artist, Patcasso, is known for taking his fans on a journey while performance painting to inspired music. When he heard 16-year old Kelly Kalosa’s song, “Smiling” he felt it was perfect. He couldn’t believe such a young artist made the song.

Keliy has a great ability at 16 years old to reflect today’s life and times with her art in a way that captures it’s intense pain and yet is inspiring with hope. Her song provides me the soundtrack to express my hope and concerns for the world that my 2-year-old daughter is growing up in.

Along with her song, Kalosa is launching a movement of her own. #KidsLivesMatter. With the phrase Evolution Over Injustice (E.O.I.) she has introduced a new movement that the Atlanta Music community is embracing.

When I wrote this song, I really didn’t understand the importance people find in such simple words.

About Patcasso
Patrick “Patcasso” Hunter is a nationally recognized performance painter. He has performed at the Sundance, Essence and Bentonville Festivals and opened for personalities such as Snoop Dog, Ben Stein and Hank Aaron raising support for charitable causes around the country

About Kelly Kalosa
Now 16 years old. Singer songwriter Kelly Kalosa has been writing and singing her own music for 3 years. Her music inspires and is the essence of hope and positivity that speaks for a generation.

New Artist: JULiA LEWiS x Jarell Perry – Love You Down @thejulialewis @jarellperry

LA singer-songwriter Jarell Perry has teamed up with Bay Area bred beat-maker Julia Lewis to rework the classic 90s hit Love You Down (originally released by 80s R&B band Ready for the World and later popularized in dance clubs by INOJ). The song maintains it’s instantly recognizable melody with Perry’s rich vocal, while the Julia Lewis production leaps straight into the future. Bass heavy nods and trap-style flair keep things fresh through to the end, where you’re bound to mash the repeat button – whether you’re there for the nostalgia of the 90s or for the sounds of tomorrow. This Norcal-Socal collaboration blends both in a beautiful way.

Eventually, I came out the other side of it, and I saw other people going through bogus relationships of there own so I thought it would make for a song that people could relate to.”

New Artist: Fabian Secon – “Looking For The Old Me” (feat. Kevin Clarke) @FabianSecon @KevinxClarke

This chill, beat driven and moody guitar sample driven record features rising progressive R&B singer from LA – Kevin Clarke, who buzzed online earlier this year with ‘Kiss Of Life’. They connected online after Kevin heard Fabian Secon’s, Splurgeboys assisted, “Fallin” and Fabian discovered Kevin Clarke’s “Kiss Of Life” on soundcloud. A mutual appreciation led to “Looking for The Old me”. The record is about soul searching for the person he was when they first met, combating the inevitable complacency in relationships. Fabian’s raw warm tone contrasts well with Kevin’s airy, floaty, Sade-esque delivery. P‎roduced by Lucas Secon and Fabian Secon.

East coast rap collective The AlliYance presents “Seltzer Water”, the new single from The Prequel, their forthcoming debut mixtape dropping July 1. Comprised of I.K.P., who recently dropped visuals for “You Know The Drill” (watch), Billy Hood, EarthTone and producer/engineer Swanny River, The AlliYance’s first collaboration was the “I Be On It” single (watch the music video). “Seltzer Water” marks the first of a list of various content The AlliYance will drop every Friday through July under the hashtag #JulYance, culminating in the release of their debut EP Introducing… The AlliYance. “To understand ‘Seltzer Water’, you must understand our previous single ‘Sugar Water, Part 1: Phone Tap’ (listen),” says I.K.P. “‘Sugar Water’ was a reference to the colored juices and frozen ices mostly found at bodegas, 7-Elevens and neighborhood delis and how easily accessible those sweet frozen water treats are. We flipped that into a metaphor for infiltrating mainstream culture because those treats are everywhere and that’s where we want to be. ‘Seltzer Water’ is like the b-side to ‘Sugar Water’. Here we are more aggressive and rebellious, like the difference of how actual seltzer water is more bitter than sugar water is. Swanny River had a Wu-Tang sample he wanted to flip over the classic ‘Impeach The President’ drums to give something to our core that would get them ready for our summertime takeover. I heard the track and when Swanny was through with the beat, I said name it ‘Seltzer Water’ because Raekwon had a song called ‘Ice Water’ from Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. It just seemed to fit.”

And, I’m just giving descriptions of my personality by saying that if we were friends I’d be the type to sleep over at your house and wake up, hide all your left shoes on you and then leave before you wake up.”

I’m a very direct/to the point type of person so the title/ideology of ‘Long Story Short’ coincides well with who I am as an individual. Inspiration for this project all came from real life events… new encounters/breakups/disappointment/daily experiences all played a part during the creative process… as the process took place, it created a brief storyline, hence the title.”

New Atlanta Artist: Matt Citron- Tabasco Flows 2 @mattcitronmtz (Contact me for A3C (www.a3cfestival.com) Tickets for the low at atlgravity12@gmail.com)

The 22 year old Atlanta native, Matt Citron, has begun to make a name for himself as a new artist in the world of Hip-Hop by combining a strikingly bold East Coast flow alongside bright pulsating melodies. With production ranging from New York’s golden age of Just Blaze bangers, to modern future bass and indie electronica inspired records, a distinctly unique sound is what you can expect to find from Matt Citron.

Hip-hop artist Matt Citron is an Atlanta native, but growing up with two New York born parents gave him a distinct and unique style unlike what you may expect from Atlanta’s music scene today. With family ties to jazz, Citron was born with music in his blood, however his first real passion was in basketball. Influenced by his father who used to play in the summer league at the West 4th Street courts, Greenwich Village (also known as “The Cage”), Matt was playing basketball before he could walk, and continued to play through high school and college.

It was in his high shool years that Matt found rap. Listening to artists like Outkast, Ludacris, T.I, and Dipset from a young age, Citron had been writing his whole life, however after hearing some friends freestyling, Matt became wildy inspired right away and decided to try it out himself. It became an outlet of passion, and he would freestyle with his friends after school and at parties often up to 6 hours at a time. After a while Matt started writing down his raps along with freestyling, and rapidly became more involved and interested in hiphop as an art.

After gaining a division one scholarship to play college basketball in South Carolina, the bustling industry that is organized college basketball made it clear to Matt that hip-hop was his primary passion, as he felt himself falling out of love with basketball. He began using all his spare time to write and develop songs. Feeling like he needed to get back to a big city and with such strong ties to New York, Matt Citron transferred to Adelphi University, Long Island, a mere 30 minute train ride to Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan. This began somewhat of a double life for Citron between basketball and music, as still on a scholarship Matt would often make trips into the city to immerse himself in the hip-hop scene as much as he could without the knowledge of his coaches. At the end of his first year Matt got hit in the eye during a pickup basketball game. This resulted in a torn retina and although he returned to Adelphi for one more semester, he could no longer play. As he sat at practices and games waiting for his eye to fully recover, watching his teammates play, the realisation that basketball was no longer his calling became more and more evident. Choosing to move back to Atlanta, Matt Citron became deeply involved in his music and decided to fully pursue a career in music. Shortly after his return, Matt was introduced to legendary Atlanta hip hip radio DJ, Greg Street, by good friend and iconic artist Gilbert Young.

Right away Greg Street fell in love with Matt’s distinctive sound and started working extremely closely with Matt to help him build a name in the music industry.
Already with cosigns from names such as Greg Street, DJ Khaled, Just Blaze, DJ Drama, and Busta Rhymes Matt Citron is beginning to carve a name for himself in the world of hip-hop.

New Artist: FreshfromDE — “Home Is Where The Heart Is” @freshfromde

“Home Is Where The Heart Is” is an 8 track album produced 100% by Boston producer Rekordhead. Delaware’s FreshfromDEexplores the challenges of repping for his hometown and state, in the face of lacking a voice within the present world. You can hear the pride FreshfromDE has in his home and how he doesn’t hesitate to accept the responsibility of being the mouthpiece for his people, hometown and state.
Following the previous releases of the inspirational anthem “Doin’ Numbers” and the somber reminiscing on his days coming up back home on “To The Homies.” The album “Home Is Where The Heart Is” is all about using your past experiences, surviving your youthful mistakes and learning from them then being motivated enough to apply these aforementioned lessons to your everyday life to fuel you as you pursue your goals. Whatever those goals may be…
